The Priestess Path
The Priestess Path: A Transformational Journey to Meet the Self
A 3-Month Initiatory Program Inspired by the Goddess Inanna
In the ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna’s Descent, the great goddess leaves her throne to journey into the underworld, shedding her worldly power, facing the unknown, and emerging transformed. The Priestess Path follows this sacred story as a map for personal transformation—a journey inward to meet our deepest selves and return with newfound wisdom, power, and purpose.
Over the course of three months, we will meet twice a month (a total of 6 times) in sacred circle, stepping into the role of priestess, seeker, and sovereign being. Through storytelling, guided journeying, creative expression, and deep reflection, we will walk the Path of Inanna—descending into our inner depths, uncovering hidden truths, and rising into a new way of being.
Program Overview
Phase 1: The Descent – Shedding the Old Self
Inanna leaves her throne and passes through the seven gates, surrendering her symbols of power.
Exploring the archetype of the priestess and our call to transformation
Rituals of release: identifying and letting go of outdated beliefs, fears, and illusions
Shadow work: meeting and honoring the hidden aspects of the self
Phase 2: The Underworld – Meeting the Deepest Self
Inanna reaches the underworld, faces death, and discovers her inner truth.
Dreamwork and deep listening: uncovering inner wisdom, long-buried desires, and forgotten dreams
Working with the dark feminine: reclaiming intuition, personal power, and ancestral gifts
Holding space for grief, transformation, and rebirth
Phase 3: The Ascent – Rising into Sovereignty
Inanna is reborn, reclaims her power, and returns to the heavens transformed.
Reintegrating wisdom: crafting rituals and practices to embody our deepest truth in daily life
Sacred sovereignty: stepping into our authentic power with confidence and clarity
Priestess initiation: a closing ceremony to honor our personal transformation
Each session, we will engage in embodied practices such as movement, breathwork, guided visualizations, journaling, and altar work to deepen our journey. Between sessions, participants will receive reflective prompts, dream incubation practices, and ritual guidance to continue the work in their own sacred space.
This program is for women ready to step onto the Priestess Path—not as a title, but as a way of being. Like Inanna, we will descend, face the truth of who we are, and rise transformed, bringing our dreams, wisdom, and desires into the world.

2025 S/HE Divine Studies Online Conference marks the second year. Planning & Convening Board (PCB) members include Dr. Helen Hye-Sook Hwang, Dr. Glenys Livingstone, and Dr. Francesca Tronetti. Directing and Consulting Board (DCB) members include Dr. Helen Benigni, and Dr. Nane Jordan.
By “the S/HE Divine,” we mean the world-wide manifestations of the female/mother/matriversal divine (Goddesses, Motherhood, and the Creatrix) from the ancient to this day. In response to the call of our time, we intend to develop a collective consciousness to overcome and redefine the compartmentalized categories of women, mothers, nature, animals, the cosmos, and men as part of the whole. The S/HE Divine Studies refuses to remain isolated within mono-disciplinary confinements but actively seek to connect women/humans, matriarchies, motherhood, civilizations, and the Creatrix (Cosmic Mother). It is not enough to say, “Personal is political.” Personal is Political and Cosmic.

Body Positive Goddess
A Two-Part Series on Loving Our Bodies Through Goddess Imagery
Throughout history, goddesses have embodied every shape, size, and form—celebrating the beauty of diverse, powerful, and sacred bodies. In this two-part series, we will explore how goddess imagery can help us heal our relationship with our own bodies, shifting from self-criticism to reverence, from shame to celebration.
Session 1: Seeing the Divine in Ourselves
We will journey through goddess traditions from around the world—Venus of Willendorf, Oshun, Demeter, Tara, and others—exploring how their depictions reflect radical self-love and body acceptance. Through guided visualization, creative expression, and storytelling, we will begin to see our own bodies as vessels of wisdom and beauty.
Session 2: Embodying the Goddess
This session focuses on reclaiming pleasure, movement, and sensuality as sacred acts. We will engage in a Goddess Self-Portrait Ritual, where participants will create personal artwork that reflects their divine essence. Using collage, drawing, or mixed media, we will craft self-portraits infused with symbols of power, love, and acceptance—transforming the way we see ourselves. Through gentle ritual, body-positive affirmations, and goddess-inspired embodiment practices, we will honor our physical forms with love and gratitude.
This series is open to women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds who are ready to step into a deeper sense of self-acceptance and divine connection. Together, we will remember that our bodies are not problems to be fixed—they are sacred expressions of the goddess herself.

Matriarchy Now!: Prophetesses & Visionaries
History is filled with badass women who rose up in times of chaos—leaders, warriors, witches, rebels, and visionaries who refused to be silenced. Matriarchy Now! is a monthly gathering where we reclaim their stories, learn from their wisdom, and explore what it means to embody radical feminine power in our own time.
Each month, we will dive into the lives of powerful women and goddesses who defied patriarchy, transformed their societies, and forged new paths for liberation. Through storytelling, discussion, ritual, and creative expression, we will weave their courage into our own lives.
